According to the author, the concept of a "secret" — which can be used for positive events as well as a means of pressuring a child — unfortunately tends to foster violence against them. The main goals of this book are to recognize good secrets (sweet ones) from bad secrets (poisonous ones), to understand the impact of a poisonous secret, and to know what to do in that case.
